June 28, 2011 Sugar Hill Municipal Golf Course The Sugar Hill Municipal Golf Course is one of the best places to play in Georgia as rated by Golf Digest. Our greens are in excellent condition and both new and long time players are nothing but complimentary of the course. We recently completed the deck and outdoor grill enclosure. We are now opening the course on Monday mornings from 8-11 a.m. for walkers; then stop by the clubhouse for a great lunch and enjoy the view with friends. January 13, 2011 We hope everyone had a happy and safe Holiday.  Sugar Hill residents have gotten some of this information in their Park and Recreation Guide but we wanted to give everyone a heads up on what to look forward to in 2011 at Sugar Hill Golf Club.  We were only open 5 days in December with the Holidays and cold temperatures and we are covered in 5 inches of snow now.  With our Champion Bermuda greens if the temperature gets below freezing for 3 + days we must cover them to protect them from cold weather diseases.  Always call in advance to make sure we are open during periods of cold weather like we have had so far this winter.     Here are some up coming events.  Friday January 21 we will have our Golf Association sign up party.  There will be food and fellowship as we discuss our 2011 season and elect new officers.  This party is open to anyone and is a great way to meet new golfers.  In 2010 we had over 100 members in our Association.  We have a tournament the 3rd Saturday of every month with all different formats to fit all levels of golfers.  For $75.00 a member of the Sugar Hill Golf Association  gets special rates on the days of tournaments and a USGA handicap here at the club.  Each event has prizes and food and is a great time.  We also have a Range Pass available for $150.00 for unlimited range use for a dated year.  Our new Golf Pass includes the unlimited range use, membership into the Golf Association with USGA handicap and discounted greens fees on weekdays and weekends.  This is a great value for $225.00.  The first SHGA tournament, ABCD Scamble, will be Saturday, February 19.  Also this year we will have a Bridgestone ball fitting day and several vendor demo days.  We will have a Jr. clinic on March 27 followed by two Jr. summer camps June 7-9 and July 26-28.  We also are looking at having a movie night and possible concerts this summer.  As you can see we are planning on have lots of great events in 2011 and we hope you will join us.  Check out our website or become a fan of Sugar Hill Golf Club on Facebook.   You can call us with any questions in the Golf Shop at 770-271-0519 or e-mail me at smurphy@cityofsugarhill.com.  Come play golf with us at Sugar Hill soon or just stop by the grill and check out our new menu. November 2, 2010 Sugar Hill Golf Club Events Fall is in the air here at Sugar Hill Golf Club. The leaves are changing and the vistas are beautiful from the course and the new pavilion. The golf course is in great shape and we have had a great year introducing ourselves to new golfers. We just wanted to give everyone an idea of what we are doing through the Holiday season. We have the Sugar Hill Memorial (The Neb) event on November 18th. This is open to all SHGA members and Golfers who play in our Thursday Shoot Out. The SHGA 3 club Monty tournament will be on November 20th and we will have a Thanksgiving shot gun at 9:30 for those that want to play on Thanksgiving day. The SHGA Santa Charity Scramble will be on December 18 and you can sign up with the golf shop like all association events. With Daylight savings time changing next week we have decided to close on Mondays until the time changes back. Mondays were very successful this Summer opening at 12:00 and we look forward to doing it again next year. We have extended our on line coupon through January so print that off of our Sugar Hill Golf Club website. Also make sure to check out our Sugar Hill Golf Club Face Book page for updates etc... We currently have 170 fans and have had as many as 570 visitors to the page in one week. Keep us in mind if you are looking to book a room for a special event, party or meeting. The new improved banquet room is great and we have had several events this year outside of golf tournaments that use it.

February 22, 2010 Sign up now for the 2-man Dogfight tournament on March 20th and see the new clubhouse additions. The completion date on the construction is March 15th, so we should be in the banquet room for this tournament.

February 17, 2010 Just a heads up to all you golfers. Our first Golf Association tournament is this Saturday the 20th. There will be plenty of prizes, food and drinks for all. It is $75.00 to be a member of our golf association and that gets you an invitation to all our tournaments, food, drinks and a USGA handicap. Last year we had 75 members and it looks like we will be even stronger and more active this year. This is the last chance to buy our new golf association shirt for $20.00 before they go up in price. Bridgestone has been nice enough to donate a free trial pack of balls for all new association members when they sign up. Our clubhouse is looking great and should be completed by March 15th so come out and see us and check out all the new programs we have to offer as well as having your special events and tournaments here at Sugar Hill this year.
