We collect toys and money each year to give to the North Gwinnett Co-op so that local area children will have a good Christmas. This year we raised over $400 and lots of nice toys. The weather was nice and we had 40+ players. A party was held after the round and pizza and wings were served. The winners of the tournament are as follows: 1st Place – Jeff Legg & Chris Everett (pictured with Scott Murphy) 2nd Place – Wayne Leonard & Jimmy Denaple (pictured with Scott Murphy)   3rd Place – Ed Williams & Cliff Williams (pictured with Scott Murphy)   Thanks to all who participated and the others who donated money for the kids. We hope to see more of you next year. Our next tournament, the A,B,C,D Scramble will be on February 18th. There will be a “Sugar Hill Kick Off” party to elect new officers on January 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the banquet room. Sincerely, Sugar Hill Golf Association and Sugar Hill Golf Club   3 Club Monty November 19, 2011 The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their 3 Club Monty tournament today. The weather was a little nicer than their last tournament. The guys enjoyed some pizza afterward. Now….. it’s time to sign up for the Santa Charity Classic. It will be held on December 10th at 11:00. There will also be a Holiday party after, for all of the Association members, employees, spouses and friends. This is a 2 man tournament, so get a friend and sign up. They don’t have to be an Association member to play. The entry fee is $50 and a toy (or $10), plus green fees.  I hope you will come out and enjoy the day with us, as all proceeds will go to a local charity that makes sure the needy children in the area have Christmas. The weather was beautiful. Perfect day to play golf. Domino’s pizza was served at the end of the tournament. Missing from the tournament today was our friend and tournament Director, Dave Nestor, who lost his brother this week. Our thoughts and prayers to Dave and his family. He was truly missed. The results of the tournament are as follows: 1st Place – Dennis Taylor, Phillip Wilcox, Scott Murphy and Wayne Leonard.   2nd Place – David Easterling, Kirk Folsom, Robbie Haverstick and Jeff Crawford. See you then!   Member - Guest Tournament September 16-18, 2011   Our Member-Guest tournament was held this weekend, starting with a practice round on Friday, followed by chicken wings, beverages and a putting contest on Friday night. The winners of the putting contest were; Rob Chandler and Dave Raab. Saturday & Sunday, the players enjoyed two beautiful days with perfect weather as they all played for the title of 1st Net or 1st Gross Winners. Bill Reid   2 Man Blind Draw Saturday, May 21, 2011 The weather was perfect for the “2- Man Best Ball Blind Draw”. There were 31 participants that battled for four places in this exciting and fun tournament. The names were blind drawn while the players were on the course battling it out. The results are as follows. 1st Place – Ronnie Whited and Paul Alexander 2nd Place – Jim Albaugh and Steve Schutt (not pictured) 3rd Place – Mike Smith and Scott Murphy (Club Mgr.) 4th Place – Dave Raab and Wayne Leonard Special thanks to Cliff Robbins for the perfectly cooked hamburgers and hot dogs. Sign up for the “BIG R” that will be played June 18th. The Calcutta will be held in the banquet room on Friday June 17th at 6:30. I hope you can all attend. This is an extremely fun tournament that is a memorial to Bill Johnsa’s Dad Richard (Big R). Hope to see you soon!   Member/Member Saturday, April 16, 2011 The Member – Member tournament was held on Saturday, April 16th. We were cart path only due to the recent storms, but had great participation for the event. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. The new deck and gazebo were put into use at the end of the tournament for scoring. A few of our newest members were among the winners. Perfect for a 2 man dogfight! The golf course is coming in nicely. A 9:30 shotgun start began a great day of golf to start the new year in Association tournaments. Sign up has begun for next month’s Dogfight on March 19th.
